<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device capable of saving space even when using a belt-like image carrier. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming device comprises a belt-like image carrier 8 for carrying an image, an image transfer unit 19 for transferring the image carried on the image carrier 8 on a recording medium, and a conveying unit 30 for conveying the recording medium toward the image transfer unit 19. A belt surface 8a is arranged on the image carrier 8 in an inclined manner from an upper side to a lower side on the upstream side in the traveling direction to the image transfer unit 19.
