PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a powder magnetic core which is made of a binder containing a soft magnetic alloy powder and a thermosetting polymer, and shows less stress resulting from a setting reaction by the binder and less decline in strength and insulation between powder grains caused by thermal deterioration of the binder subjected to heat treatment, and to provide an inductor using the powder magnetic core. SOLUTION: The powder magnetic core is obtained as the binder by compacting an admixture made by mixing a xylane resin of 94 to 99 mass% with soft magnetic alloy powder. This powder magnetic core has superior electromagnetic characteristics. Therefore, an inductor to which the powder magnetic core applies also has superior characteristics, is small-sized, and is capable of handling a large current. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
