<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video display method of a portable terminal in a video distribution system which clearly displays a required part desired to be viewed at the portable terminal. <P>SOLUTION: A storage and distribution server 103 for storing video images picked up in an image pickup device 101, and a conversion server 104 for acquiring the video images from the storage and distribution server and distributing them to the portable terminal in the case of being requested from the portable terminal 105 are provided. The portable terminal displays the image acquired from the conversion server on a display, specifies the displayed image and the optional position and range, and transmits the video image and specifying information to the conversion server. The conversion server acquires the video image specified in the portable terminal from the video images stored in the storage and distribution server, segments the position and range specified in the portable terminal by using the acquired image, prepares the image of a size to be displayed at the portable terminal and distributes the prepared image to the portable terminal.
