<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To output input image data, to a side of an output device including printing and then compress the data to be stored in a memory for backup. <P>SOLUTION: A scanner image processing device converts image data in S11 and performs DMA transfers and outputs the image data to a plotter image processing device via a central processing device in S12. The scanner image processing device outputs the image data to a plotter unit and prints the image data in S13. The scanner image processing device compresses the image data to store the data in a RAM in S14.
