The device (1) has a base body (7) comprising a positioning surface conveyed to a measuring surface. A measuring element (9) is pivotable around a rotary axis arranged parallel to a longitudinal axis (L) of the base body relative to the base body between normal and measuring positions. The element is axially movable between interposed and pushed out positions, and includes a contact surface pointing in an opposite direction to the positioning surface and conveyed to another measuring surface. A position sensor (26) detects the axial position of the element relative to the base body.
