PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic electroluminescence element using a composite material substrate with a transparent electrode excelling in dimensional stability, stability of a resistance value, and transparency. SOLUTION: This organic electroluminescence element includes the composite material substrate with a transparent electrode, and a luminescent layer. The organic electroluminescence element is characterized in that the composite material substrate with a transparent electrode includes: a plastic film containing a cross-linked resin and a glass fiber; one or more gas barrier layers formed on both surfaces of the plastic film; and transparent electrode layers formed on the gas barrier layers and containing In-Zn-O as a main constituent.
