METHOD FOR GENERATING INSTITUTE OF ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONIC ENGINEERS 1394 VIRTUAL NETWORK AND VIRTUAL NETWORK CONTROLLER

PURPOSE: A method for generating an IEEE(Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers) 1394 virtual network is provided to arbitrarily set up ID(Identification)s of nodes on a network, and to recognize each node as the network, when different IEEE 1394 networks are connected as predetermined mediators. CONSTITUTION: A method for generating an IEEE(Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers) 1394 virtual network comprises the steps of: connecting a virtual network controller for generating a virtual self ID packet including ID information of virtual nodes, which is necessary for virtual network composition, to predetermined IEEE 1394 networks; deciding whether the each node composing the IEEE 1394 networks and the virtual network controller are branches or leaves, by performing a virtual bus initialization; deciding a pa rent port, a child port, and a root node about ports of the each node by identifying a virtual tree; sending the ready virtual self ID packet, and deciding physical node IDs of the each node.
