<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid the generation of a strange sound, such as gurgling by returning drain water at a stroke to a drain pan when the operation of a drain pump comes to a halt, for example, for power is in an OFF state. SOLUTION: In a ceiling embedded indoor unit of an air conditioner, which stores the drain water condensed in a heat exchanger in a drain pan 5 and discharges forcibly the drain water in the drain pan 5 to the outside by driving a drain pump 13, a power controller 21 is provided, which reduces gradually application voltages to a motor which drives the drain pump 13 when the operation of the drain pump 13 is suspended. This construction makes it possible to halt the operation of the drain pump 13 gradually so that no drain water may be returned to the drain pan at a stroke.</p> |
