A structure of a worm gear for an electric power steering system is provided to assemble an external member and a hub tightly by forming first and second dam portions, and a ݆T݆ shaped fitting portion on an outer peripheral surface of the hub. A structure of a worm gear for an electric power steering system comprises an external member(49) and a hub(41). The external member engages with a worm shaft. The hub supports the external member. First and second dam portions(42,43) are formed at two edges of an outer peripheral surface of the hub. A ݆T݆ shaped fitting portion(45) protrudes from the center of the outer peripheral surface of the hub.
