This invention provides a fiber structure treatment apparatus, which does not need to heat a fiber structure as a sterilization object and/or a constituent member of a treatment apparatus to a high temperature, does not always need to be brought to a dried state, does not cause, for example, a deterioration or fading of the fiber structure as the sterilization object and/or the constituent member of the treatment apparatus, does not cause damage to the fiber structure as the sterilization object and/or the constituent member of the treatment apparatus, and can realize satisfactory sterilization. A washing and drying machine (100) as a treatment apparatus for a fiber structure comprises in its interior a rotary drum (3) as a receiving part for receiving clothes (6) as the fiber structure, a silver ionic water supply part (40) as a silver ion imparting part for imparting silver ions to the rotary drum (3) and/or clothes (6) received in the rotary drum (3), and a light irradiation unit (20) as a light irradiation part for applying light to the rotary drum (3) and/or the clothes (6) to which silver ions have been imparted by the silver ion water supply part (40).
