PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating liquid which forms a clear coating layer without the necessity for a step of curing/fixing by heating or ultraviolet rays and imparts light resistance, water resistance, fixing properties, and glossy feeling to a record; an image recording method using the same; and a record prepared thereby. SOLUTION: This coating liquid, which is applied to a recorded image, at least contains water, fine polymer particles, and a penetrant (preferably selected from among acetylene glycol surfactants, acetylene alcohol surfactants, glycol ethers, and 1,2-alkylene glycols). The image recording method comprises jetting the coating liquid by an ink jet recording method to form a uniform clear coating layer. The record is prepared by the method. |
