PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recording apparatus capable of inexpensively configuring a function for changing a contact pressure of a nozzle plate onto a wipe blade of an inkjet head, suppressing abrasion of a liquid repellent layer coated on the surface of the nozzle plate when cleaning the nozzle plate, and maintaining ink ejecting capability for a long time. SOLUTION: A wipe blade 201 held with a wipe pivoting piece 202 by pivoting a wipe pivoting shaft 208 which moves in accordance with sliding of a slide plate 205 and by pivoting a wipe pivoting piece 202 which moves in accordance with pivoting of the wipe pivoting shaft 208 is configured so as to be changeable between a weak wipe mode having a weak wiping pressure, in which a wipe surface becomes perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the nozzle plate 200 so that both ends thereof run on a mask plate 213 which is more convex than the nozzle plate 200, and a strong wipe mode, in which the wipe surface of the wipe blade 201 becomes approximately at an angle of 45°with the longitudinal direction of the nozzle plate to run off the mask plate 213 so that the wipe surface directly touches on the nozzle plate 200.
