Disclosed is an organic EL material-containing solution which contains an organic EL material and a solvent. The organic EL material contains at least a host and a dopant, and the host is composed of an anthracene derivative. The solvent dissolves 0.5% by weight or more of the host, and has a viscosity of not less than 5 cP. Furthermore, the solvent contains an alkyl-substituted biphenyl which comprises an alkyl group having 1-10 carbon atoms as a substituent.
