摘要 An LC device and an electronic apparatus are provided to supply a portable phone including an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) unit having superior display quality by smoothly performing an initial transition operation of an OCB(Optical Compensated Bend) mode at low voltage within a short time. An LC device(100) has an LC layer(50) maintained between first and second substrates(10,20) disposed to face each other. The LC device performs a display operation after performing transition of the LC layer from spray alignment to bend alignment. A scanning line and a data line(6a) crossing each other and plural pixel electrodes(15) are provided in the first substrate. Transition electrodes(60) are closer to the LC layer than the scanning line or the data line, and closer to the first substrate than the pixel electrode. The transition electrodes generate potential difference between the transition electrode and the pixel electrode.
