<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inexpensively and highly accurately secure the construction of a thrust roller bearing cage 2 which is formed with pockets shaped planarly rectangular and punched in several circumferential positions of one annular plate in the thickness direction for storing rollers 3, to reduce the rotating resistance of the rollers 3. <P>SOLUTION: After a center hole is formed in a predetermined position of one metal plate with punching work, drawing work is applied to form a wavy bent portion 4 which is wavy in the thickness direction, in a midway region in the radial direction. The pockets 5 are formed in the metal plate after machined, with punching work in the thickness direction, while protruding portions 8, 9 for pivot-supporting the rollers and pawls 7a, 7b, 7c protruding toward the pockets for preventing the come-off of the rollers are formed thereon.
