PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor drive controller wherein input voltage is boosted without use of a switching means that is operated at high speed, electrical stress on a capacitor is reduced, and efficiency is enhanced. SOLUTION: In the motor drive controller, a rectifier circuit is constructed of a combination of a diode and a capacitor. The controller boosts input voltage to increase the operating voltage of an inverter circuit. Thus it is possible to boost input voltage without use of a switching means that is operated at high speed and reduce electrical stress on the capacitor. As a result, the efficiency of the motor drive controller can be enhanced. Since the circuitry is simple and the number of parts is small, the price of the motor drive controller can be reduced.
