PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a car fixing device at opening of an elevator door with a simple mechanism. SOLUTION: The car fixing device at opening of the elevator door is provided with a first engagement member provided on a car door or a landing sill; and a second engagement member provided on the landing sill or the car door and not engaged with the first engagement member at a door closing position and engaged with it at the door opening position regarding a lifting direction of the car. In the car fixing device, lifting of the car is prevented when the first engagement member is engaged with the second engagement member. The first engagement member has a pair of engagement surfaces spaced in a lifting direction of the car, and at the opening of the door, the second engagement member projected into a hoistway is inserted to the space between the engagement surfaces. The first engagement member is a U shaped engagement member provided on a lower portion of a front edge in the door opening direction of the car door, and the second engagement member may be the engagement member provided on an end of the landing sill and received by the first engagement member.
