The static mixing element (10) has a grid-like component (14) through which exhaust gas flows. The component is formed in single-piece designed together with an elongated metal strip (26) and component is formed by bending. The metal strip has a section (28), which is bent in multiple parallel strips (30). An independent claim is also included for the method for manufacturing of static mixing element.
