An entertainment system comprises a first gaming device 3100 which executes a game application program 3122 associated with a game, the gaming device including processing means 3120 which generates game action data indicative of graphical content of the game, and transmitting means (not shown) which transmits the game action data such that the game action can be rendered within the virtual environment of a second gaming device 3300 in data communication with the first gaming device. The virtual environment is associated with a virtual environment application program 3324 which is different from the game application program. The data communication between the gaming devices may comprise peer-to-peer or client server communication protocol. The entertainment system allows a user of the second gaming device 3300 to observe, within a virtual environment displayed on the second gaming device, transmitted game action of a game being played on one or more first gaming devices 3100, 3200. The game action data may be transmitted and observed in real-time, or may be stored and transmitted at a selected time. Transmission of the game action data may be dependant upon a payment status of a user of the second gaming device. |
