A burial container (10) includes a receptacle (12) for a corpse. The receptacle (12) includes a plurality of side panels (14, 16, 18) and at least one joint member (22, 24) defining open-sided seats seating edge portions of adjoining side panels. The seats of a joint member (22, 24) are defined on an inner side or face of the joint member facing towards or into the receptacle (12). The joint member (22, 24) and the panels (14, 16, 18) being joined together by the joint member overlap with the joint member being on the outside and the panels being on the inside, where the joint member overlaps with the panels. The joint member (22, 24) covers an edge portion of each panel (14, 16, 18) over the entire height of the edge portion. |
