摘要 A homogeneous charge compression ignition engine and devices for air intake and exhaust gas are provided to cool the re-circulated exhaust gas, and to heat intake air while saving space occupied by the devices. An engine(1) having homogeneous charge compression ignition system includes a combustion chamber(10), an air intake passageway(11p) leading to the combustion chamber, and an exhaust gas passageway(12p) extended fro the combustion chamber. The homogeneous charge compression ignition system has a turbo charger(11t), a throttle(3), a fuel valve(2v), a passageway(20p) to preheat the intake air, a switch valve(11v), an EGR(Exhaust Gas Recirculation) passageway(30p), an EGR valve(30v), a heat exchanger(40), an intake valve(51v), an exhaust valve(52v), a spark plug(53c), an ECU(Electronic Control Unit,5) where control cables(5a~5i) for various devices are connected to control operation of the connected devices such as the exhaust valve, the spark plug, the intake valve, the EGR valve, the switch valve, the throttle, the fuel valve, the by-pass control valve, and the turbo charger.
