A fluorescent lamp having a ceramic-glass composite electrode is provided to dramatically increase the luminance of the fluorescent lamp by moving electrons and ions in a glass tube. A fluorescent lamp(400) includes a glass tube(410) and a hollow electrode(430). A fluorescent material is applied on an inner surface of the glass tube and inert gas and metal vapors fill the glass tube. Both ends of the glass tube are encapsulated. The hollow electrode is made of a ceramic-glass composite. The hollow electrode has a step formed between a center of the hollow electrode and the both ends thereof. The ceramic-glass composite is made of a CaO-MgO-SrO-ZrO2-TiO2-based ceramic compound and a composite of a glass frit of 0.3 wt% to 10 wt%. The CaO-MgO-SrO-ZrO2-TiO2-based ceramic compound has a basic composition including 0<CaO<1mol, 0<MgO<1mol, 0<SrO<1mol, 0<ZrO2<1mol, 0<TiO2<1mol, and CaO+MgO+SrO:ZrO2+TiO2 of 1:1 mole ratio, and a component selected from a group consisting of MnO, Al2O3, CrO3, and Fe2O3 which is added to the basic composition. The selected component of 3 wt% is added to the basic composition.
