PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a failure detection device of a vane type hydraulic pump capable of preventing an accident by promptly detecting abnormal rise of oil pressure and oil temperature. SOLUTION: This failure detection device has an oil pressure rise detection means 20 and a warning generation means (for instance, a buzzer 31 and/or a warning lamp 32) arranged at specific positions P1-P4 of the vane type hydraulic pump 1, and is characterized by being structured to generate a warning when oil temperature at any of the specific positions is set above a predetermined value.
