An image display device is provided with an LCD panel (102); a BL unit (150) having a first abutting plane which abuts to a display plane of the LCD panel (102); and an LCD holding piece (101) having a second abutting plane to which a plane facing the display plane of the LCD panel (102) abuts. The LCD holding piece (101) is provided with an urging section (an elastic supporting section (101b) and a holding piece elastic arm (101i)) for urging a BL unit (150). The BL unit (150) is urged toward the LCD holding piece (101) by the urging section. Thus, generation of foreign materials due to contact of an EVF panel with a case or shift of foreign materials into an image display range is suppressed.
