To provide an exhaust gas turbocharger in which the misalignment between the axis of the rotary shaft of a turbine and the axis of the rotary shaft of a compressor or the misalignment between the axis of the rotary shaft of the turbine, the axis of the rotary shaft of the compressor, and the axis of the rotary shaft of a generator can be prevented from occurring due to the heat of the exhaust gas, the vibration of these rotary shafts can be reduced and the overall reliability of the turbocharger can be improved. An exhaust gas turbocharger (1) includes a casing (6) supporting a turbine part (3) and a compressor part (5). A leg part (6a) is formed at the lower end of the casing (6) and secured to a base placed on a floor surface. The turbocharger further includes an electric generator (19) having a rotary shaft (19a) connected to the rotary shaft (7) of the turbine part (3) and the compressor part (5).
