<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell system 101 capable of making an exhaust valve small in size and low in cost by reducing a force required for opening the exhaust valve. <P>SOLUTION: The fuel cell system is provided with a compressor 102 to supply a scavenging gas, an exhaust valve which switches over cathode scavenging performed by supplying the scavenging gas to a cathode gas passage and anode scavenging performed by supplying the scavenging gas to an anode gas passage, and a back pressure valve 104 which adjusts the pressure of the scavenging gas. An ECU 60 adjusts the scavenging gas pressure by the back pressure valve 104 and reduces the pressure difference of the scavenging gas at both sides of the exhaust valve 64 at the time of switching over from the cathode scavenging to the anode scavenging by the exhaust valve 64 to the pressure difference capable of opening the valve of the exhaust valve 64. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
