DISPLAY PANEL AND APPARATUS FOR CONTROLLING THE SAME

A display panel control apparatus for performing a nonvolatile display panel rewrite control in which pulse voltages are applied to gate and source lines, thereby applying voltages to pixel electrodes whereby an image can be rewritten. The apparatus comprises a plurality of individual gate pulse applying means (50) that are connected to a plurality of gate lines (40) to apply pulse voltages to the thus connected gate lines (40); a plurality of individual power supply switches (52) that individually turns on/off the power supplies of the respective individual gate pulse applying means (50); and an individual power supply switch control means (54) that that turns on those ones of the individual power supply switches (52) of the respective individual gate pulse applying means (50) which are connected to the gate lines (40) associated with pixels where the display rewrite is performed (which will be referred to as "rewritten pixels" hereafter), while turning off those ones of the individual power supply switches (52) of the respective individual gate pulse applying means (50) which are not connected to the gate lines (40) associated with the rewritten pixels.
