PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for properly controlling the transient torque at start of an induction motor. SOLUTION: A drive circuit is inserted between a drive power source 21 and the induction motor 22. A reactor 23 and a resistor 24 are connected in series, and a switch 26 is connected in parallel to the reactor 24 and the resistor 24 connected in series. A switch 25 is inserted between the switch 26 and the reactor 23 and the drive power source 21, and the switch 25 is closed only at drive of the induction motor 22. The other switch 26 is closed at start when the switch 25 is switched from open to close, and then it is closed to short-circuit the line between the reactor 23 and the resistor 24. Thereby, the drive voltage of the drive power source 21 is applied via the reactor 23 and the resistor 24 at start, and after start, it is applied directly. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
