PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for producing nanofibers by which clogging in a spinning part during stop of production of the nanofibers can be prevented and intermittent production can be carried out with good operation efficiency. SOLUTION: In the method and the apparatus for producing the nano-fibers, a polymer solution including the polymer dissolved in a solvent is ejected from a plurality of small holes provided in the spinning part 17 and drawn by applying a high voltage to the discharged polymer solution according to electrostatic explosion to produce the nanofibers composed of the polymer. In the method and the apparatus, the polymer solution is fed from a solution storage part 2 to a solution feeding part 6 capable of changing over the interior thereof to a pressurized state and a vacuum state and the interior of the solution feeding part 6 is kept in the pressurized state during formation of the nanofibers to feed the polymer solution from the solution feeding part 6 to the spinning part 17. When the polymer solution fed to the spinning part 17 is recovered, the interior of the solution feeding part 6 is kept in the vacuum state and the polymer solution is recovered from the spinning part 17 to the solution feeding part 6.
