<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a television by which it is hard to spoil user's convenience even when a remote controller is lost in the television in which there are operation items operable only from the remote controller. <P>SOLUTION: Operation items impossible to be selected from an operation panel 26 are included in operation items selectable from the remote controller 60, a microcomputer 22 accepts a remote control code received from the remote controller 60, associates the accepted remote control code with the operation items of the operation panel 26 to be stored in a semiconductor memory 24.
