The plate (10) comprises a casing (2) for securing to and/or inside a horizontal or vertical portion of the frame, a space (18) inside the casing for receiving a latch associated with a window or door lock, a retaining part (5) which can be moved at right angles to the latch displacement direction and which includes a stop (11) for contact with one of the length sides of the latch, a displacement part (6) movable in the latch displacement direction in order to move the retaining part, and a mechanism (13) for converting movement of the displacement part into movement of the retaining part. An independent claim is also included for a strike plate as described above, except that the displacement part is movable in the same direction as the retaining part. |
