A focus control method of an optical information storage medium and an apparatus thereof are provided to carry out spherical aberration correction with respect to a target data layer when a focus jump command is inputted and to determine each pulse finishing time by using an RFDC signal instead of a focus error signal, thereby raising the focus jump speed accurately. A focus control method of an optical information storage medium comprises carrying out spherical aberration correction with respect to a second data layer when a focus jump command is inputted from a first data layer to the second data layer(S10,S20), and carrying out focus jump from the first data layer to the second data layer via a servo signal processing part(S30).
