PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for preventing snoring and a snoring prevention method using the same, which is capable of naturally changing a sleep posture to stop the snoring without awakening a sleeper and capable of making such a posture change accurately even if the sleeper moves unconsciously by accurately determining whether or not the sleeper snores based on an ambient sound, thereby enabling the sleeper to carry on a sound sleep. SOLUTION: The apparatus for preventing the snoring of the sleeper includes: a human body wearable means to be worn by the sleeper; air chambers provided at the rear of the human body wearable means so as to be shrunk and expanded; an air supply means for supplying air to the air chambers; a sound detecting means installed at the human body wearable means for sensing a sound generated by the sleeper and outputting the sound as an electrical signal; and a control unit for receiving the signal outputted from the sound detecting means, and when the snoring of the sleeper is sensed, controlling the air supply means to supply the air to the air chambers and changing the posture of the sleeper.
