<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To save toner consumption without using a power supply means causing the increase of cost and the problem of "foggings". <P>SOLUTION: In the toner image forming method, a carrier 11 is charged totally, then is exposed partially to form a latent image from which charges are removed. The toner charged to the same polarity as that of the carrier 11 is supplied from a developing means 14 to which a predetermined developing bias is applied, to develop the latent image. In the method, it is determined whether a mode is a toner save mode or a normal mode, and when the mode is the toner save mode, the carrier 11 is charged more strongly than that in the normal mode. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
