<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a waste treatment system which separates an oil and fat, which is used as a fuel oil for a biodiesel engine, from wastes and feeds the waste residue into a reduction gasification melting furnace where the waste residue is used as e.g. a fuel and is detoxified. <P>SOLUTION: This waste treatment system 1 is provided with a biodiesel oil production apparatus 2 that separates the oil and fat containing wastes into an oil and fat and the waste residue and converts the separated oil and fat into the fuel oil for the biodiesel engine and the reduction gasification melting furnace 3 into which the waste residue formed from the production apparatus 2 is fed as the fuel, or the like, and which melts it at a high temperature of 1,000°C or higher to form a high-temperature liquid product and a high-temperature gas. The high-temperature liquid product formed in the furnace 3 is converted into a slag, and the high-temperature reducing gas is used as an energy resource of e.g., a high-temperature gas.
