PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce image density unevenness in a sub-scanning direction.

SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes: an image processing part for binarizing image data output to a laser exposure device scanning and exposing a photoreceptor drum in accordance with a processing condition for image density reproduction; and a light amount setting part 205 for setting an emission light amount of laser light output from the laser exposure device based on a detected variation amount and a processing condition set on a screen processing part by detecting the variation amount of a mutual spacing of a scanning line of the laser amount scanning and exposing the surface of the photoreceptor drum.
