<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an on-vehicle radar system capable of calculating an object length along the directional an electromagnetic wave transmission direction, based on the frequency spectrum of received electromagnetic waves. <P>SOLUTION: This on-vehicle radar system is provided with a transmission means 101 for transmitting a frequency-modulated transmission electromagnetic wave A1, a reception means 102 for receiving the received electromagnetic wave A2 reflected by an object 10; a Fourier transformation means 104 for Fourier-transforming a beat signal B based on the transmission electromagnetic wave; a relative position/relative speed calculation means 105 for measuring the relative position and the relative speed between own vehicle 100 and the object 10, based on the frequency spectra fn by the Fourier transformation, and an object length calculation means 106 for calculating the object length L<SB>obj</SB>along the electromagnetic wave transmission direction, based on the frequency spectrum corresponding to the object, out of the frequency spectra fn. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
