PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide small particle diameter electrophotographic toner excellent in fluidity, cleaning property and charge stability and having a narrow particle size distribution width, and a method for manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: A melt-kneaded product of a toner composition containing a binder resin having an acid value of 5-30 mgKOH/g and a colorant is emulsified in an aqueous medium containing a water-soluble dispersant having an acid value of≥200 mgKOH/g to obtain toner particles with irregularity having 100-500 nm average interval between the peaks of protrusions.
