The invention relates to the use of form tools for producing molded parts and especially to the production of corresponding form tools for producing fiber composite parts. The invention provides a method for producing a form tool (10), constituted of a fiber composite (10') and having a wear-resistant layer (18) on a form tool surface (12') of the form tool (10), said wear-resistant layer (18) and/or an adhesive layer for the wear-resistant layer (18) being gradually applied by thermal spraying. The invention thus provides a simple method for substantially increasing the wear-resistance or the service life of form tools that are produced from a fiber composite (10') such as for example CFK.
