<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress image quality defects occurring due to the heat that a recording medium is eventually possessed by heat fixing in a both side image forming apparatus in which heat fixing is performed. <P>SOLUTION: A duct 610 is disposed in a space formed between a transfer section 332 of a marking unit 21 and a recursion conveyance way forming section 512 of a both-side conveyance way 510. The duct 610 is provided with a duct 620 to forcibly form the flow of air within a cavity, and to take in the air outside a casing of a relatively low temperature. The heat fixed recording medium already recorded on one side and the recursion conveyance way forming section 512 warmed by the heat of the recording medium can be cooled by the cooling effect of the air within the duct 610. The transmission of their heat to the transfer section 332 of the marking unit 32 can be suppressed by a heat insulation effect. As a result, the heat fixed recording medium already recorded on the one side passes the neighborhood of the marking unit 32 and thereby the image quality defects due to the heat eventually possessed in the recording medium by the heat fixing can be suppressed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
