This invention provides a positive-working lithographic printing plate material, which has scratch resistance high enough to cope with a requirement for high productivity of large-size plates, is excellent in sensitivity and development latitude for a developing solution which has a low pH value or has low activity due to deterioration, and a method for manufacturing a lithographic printing plate using the positive-working lithographic pirnting plate material. The lithographic printing plate material comprises a photosensitive layer provided on a support and is characterized in that the photosensitive layer contains a compound containing a residue of a cyclic ureido compound having a cyclic structure having two or more amide bonds (-NHCO-) in an identical ring.
