An indoor unit for an air conditioner is provided to allow the indoor unit to be easily recognized by selectively emitting light from letters or diagrams formed in a button. An indoor unit for an air conditioner comprises a body that forms an inner space and is mounted with a plurality of parts. A front panel(110) forms a front external appearance of the body and has no unevenness sections. A manipulating device is provided at the rear one side of the front panel and has buttons(B) selectively pressed by force applied from the front portion of the front panel. The front panel includes an external appearance layer(117), a deposition layer(118), and a printed layer(119). The external appearance layer is provided at the front surface of the front panel and has a film shape made of transparent material. The deposition layer is vacuum-deposited on the rear surface of the external appearance layer. The printed layer is printed on the rear surface of the deposition layer. |
