A mold for forming a barrier rib of a rear plate on a surface light source apparatus, a method for manufacturing the rear plate of the surface light source apparatus using the same, and the rear plate of the surface light source apparatus manufactured therefrom are provided to improve the thickness uniformity and stiffness of the barrier rib by optimally controlling a leakage amount of a barrier rib material. A body(200) has a plate shape. A barrier rib pattern forming section includes a plurality of slots(221a) formed on an upper surface of the body. The slots are formed in parallel with a lateral end of the body in a longitudinal direction. A longitudinal section of the respective slots has a trench shape. Barriers(260a,260b) are formed on the upper surface of the body and have a rectangular parallelepiped. The barriers are formed between circumferences of the barrier rib pattern forming section adjacent to both ends thereof in a longitudinal direction. A width of the barrier is 50 mum to 300 mm.
