PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display and a method of manufacturing the same.

SOLUTION: In the liquid crystal display using a color filter on-array structure wherein a color filter is formed on a lower substrate, the color filter remains in a boundary portion between pixel electrodes on a storage electrode line or pixel and common electrodes without being removed to prevent short circuit caused by residuals of the pixel electrode when the color filter is removed.
