PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely remove ink remaining on the inner side of a cap body in idle-sucking in a condition that the cap body is away from a nozzle forming face. SOLUTION: The cap body 51 is provided with a discharge hole 53 communicating with a suction means 54, and an ink absorber 55 which is provided along the inner wall of the cap body 51 and is adapted to cover the discharge hole 53. In the ink absorber 55, a fluid channel resistance against ink of a first ink absorption section 55a at a portion covering the discharge hole 53 is greater than that of a second ink absorption section 55b at the other portion. Consequently, when idle-sucking is carried out by making the cap body 51 to be away from the nozzle forming face 4a, the ink in the first ink absorption section 55a and the second ink absorption section 55b can be uniformly discharged, thereby preventing an air from being drawn.
