PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inactivation treatment method by ultraviolet light by which water to be treated is irradiated with ultraviolet light radiated from an excimer light source in order to perform disinfection efficiently. SOLUTION: The inactivation treatment method by ultraviolet light comprises irradiating ultraviolet light generated in the excimer lamp 13 filled with a material forming excimer molecules in a discharge medium to inactivate any one of bacteria, virus, yeast, filamentous bacteria and protozoa.
