PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for propagating coral that can surely reduce damages given to donor coral. SOLUTION: The method for propagating the coral comprises a first step of arranging at least one fixing member on a live coral colony, a second step of growing a part of the coral colony, covering at least a part of the fixing member and then removing the fixing member together with the grown coral colony, and a third step of moving the part of the removed coral colony, together with the fixing member to another place and making the part of the coral colony grow. The maximum outside diameter of the fixing member is substantially the same as that of the nubbin size which is specific to the species of the objective coral colony. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
