The porous gas isolating membrane has fixed superparamagnetic particles, a minimum thickness of 1 mm and a pore width of 50 to 100 mm. The isolating membrane can contain nanoscale magnetic particles in the form of superparamagnetic particles coated with silicon dioxide. Independent claims are also included for the following: (A) a method of manufacturing an inventive gas isolating membrane (B) a gas isolating (C) and a method of separating gas mixtures containing paramagnetic and diamagnetic gas.
