The method involves transmitting a programming instruction, which is coded in an adapted data format on a time signal receiver (210), of a transmitting device. A complete time signal according to the time signal protocol is assigned for programming of the time signal receiver, which has a programming instruction. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a programmable time signal receiver, which has a receiving unit for the wireless receiving of an electromagnetic time signal (2) a programming device for a wireless programming of a time signal receiver, which has a storing unit for the storage of instructions for the time signal receiver.
