A refrigerator is provided to compensate air volume by calculating accumulated time of door opening and checking if the accumulated time exceeds a predetermined time in order to increase RPM of a cooling fan. A refrigerator comprises a body unit, a door, a door opening sensor(500), and a control unit(600). The body unit has an internal space divided into a freezer compartment and a refrigerator compartment. The door seals the internal space of the refrigerator. The door opening sensor is installed to the body unit or the door, to sense the time of door opening. The control unit increases an RPM of a fan motor(300) according to the accumulated time of door opening sensed by the door opening sensor.
